David Miller to suit up for Rams in 2017-18

By Adam Jenkins

TORONTO — The Ryerson Rams men's hockey team have named David Miller as their seventh recruit for their upcoming season.

After spending three seasons with the Ontario Hockey League's Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds
(2012-14 and 2016-17) and one season with the Kitchener Rangers (2015-16), the Burlington, Ont. native will be swapping the Red and White for Blue and Gold this fall.

"David is a tenacious two-way centre that plays a 200-foot game. He posseses a ton of offensive upside and is capable of contributing in all areas on the ice," Rams head coach Johnny Duco described. "We are extremely excited that David has chosen Ryerson as his U SPORTS destination."

Miller describes himself as a "highly competitive athlete that is driven to get better every day."

"Miller is a undersized forward but skates well and plays well in all three zones," explained Tyler Parchem of "He is good at generating offence and is not afraid to get his nose dirty."

In 298 games played throughout his OHL career, Miller recorded 82 goals, 87 assists, and 169 points.

"I chose Ryerson because the hockey program and facility are first-class," he explained. "Toronto has a great atmosphere and is full of opportunity."

The alumnus of Nelson High School in Burlington, Ont., will be enrolled in Ryerson's Art and Contemporary Studies program beginning in September.

When will Miller take to the ice for the first time in the OUA? Find out in the coming weeks when the OUA men's hockey schedule is unveiled.
