Rams sweep Marauders for first wins of 2018

TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams fastpitch team bounced back from a tough opening day to record two victories over the McMaster Marauders to even their record at 2-2.

Game 1: Ryerson 3, McMaster 2
The Ryerson Rams defeated McMaster 3-2, in a pitcher’s duel.

Zoe Delorme surrendered two runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out six.

Abbigail Thompson, Taylar Oats, Alicia Callaghan, Delorme, Emma Carr, and Jessica Sutton each collected one hit to lead Ryerson Rams.

Game 2: Ryerson 15, McMaster 2
Emma Carr drove in five runs on three hits including her second home run this season, to lead the Ryerson Rams  past McMaster 15-2 on Sunday.  Carr drove in runs on a single in the third, a home run in the third, and a single in the fourth.

The Rams  secured the victory thanks to 13 runs in the third inning.  Hadley Smith, Carr, Zoe Delorme, Taylar Oats, Jessica Sutton, and  Abbigail Thompson all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Alicia Callaghan had a solid pitching performance, allowing just two hits and one run, while striking out two.

The Rams are back in action next weekend when they face the Toronto Varsity Blues on September 14 before traveling to London to take on the Western Mustangs on September 16.
