Mustangs shutout Rams in London
LONDON, Ont. - The No. 8 ranked Ryerson Rams women's hockey team couldn't find the scoreboard on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-0 to the No. 9 ranked Western Mustangs at Thompson Arena.
The Mustangs opened the scoring 11 minutes into the first period on a deflection in the slot to take a 1-0 lead. That advantage held at the intermission.
Western doubled their lead 13 minutes into the second period before adding their third goal on the power play just before the horn blew to signal the end of the frame.
Needing a big third period, the Rams could muster only six shots on goal in the frame and couldn't solve Mustangs goalie Carmen Lasis.
Ryerson finished with just 19 shots in the game, compared to 32 by the Mustangs.
The Rams will be back in action on Friday, January 11 when they host the Queen's Gaels for a 7:15 p.m. puck drop at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.
