Patrick Fellows set to join Rams in September
TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams men’s hockey team is excited to announce that Patrick Fellows has committed to Ryerson for his U SPORTS career and is set to join the Rams in September.
Over four years in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), Fellows played 241 games with the Erie Otters, recording 28 goals and 41 assists as a left winger. With 52 OHL playoff games under his belt as well, Fellows brings plenty of experience to Ryerson’s roster.
“Patrick is a player that we are extremely excited to add to our program,” says Rams head coach Johnny Duco. “He brings a strong two-way game and we believe he has the tools to flourish offensively at the U SPORTS level.”
An OHL champion in 2017, Fellows was named an alternate captain in his final season with Erie. His Otters were also finalists in the Memorial Cup Championship in the same year, an accomplishment that he names as the highlight of his athletic career thus far.
“His championship experience and leadership qualities were attractive to us during the recruiting process,” says Duco. “Patrick was an excellent penalty killer in the OHL and should provide a boost for us in that area. We look forward to Patrick’s arrival at Ryerson.”
Fellows was drafted by the Otters in the seventh round of the 2013 OHL Entry Draft. Prior to his time in Erie, Fellows played his minor hockey with his hometown AAA club, the Mississauga Rebels.
Fellows will enter Ryerson’s Film Studies program in the fall, stating that the opportunities available to him at Ryerson best suit his athletic and academic interests.
“Ryerson provides me with the best academic program for my interests and a great hockey program where I can continue to develop as a player,” says Fellows.
