Erika Equizi joins Rams' 2018 recruiting class

By Jessica Pincente

TORONTO - Erika Equizi has committed to Ryerson and will hit the field for the Ryerson Rams women’s soccer team in August, as announced on Wednesday.

Equizi joins the Rams from her hometown of Aurora, Ont. She played her club soccer with Richmond Hill S.C., winning both York Region Soccer League (YRSL) and Central Soccer League (CSL) titles during her eight-year career with the club.

A graduate of Jean Vanier HS in Richmond Hill, Equizi was named the school’s Athlete of the Year in 2018 after captaining the varsity soccer team and earning MVP honours for the volleyball, field hockey, and soccer teams.

Equizi self-describes as a vocal and communicative athlete who is confident and eager to learn.

A four-time honour roll student in high school, Equizi is set to enter Ryerson’s Psychology program in the fall.

“[Ryerson] provides me with many ways to succeed in both my education and learning, as well as athletically,” says Equizi. “ I love the Downtown environment and the people that have welcomed me into the school community and team.”
