Lukas Porosa joined the Ryerson Rams men's volleyball coaching staff in 2007, and is a former player. Porosa is a former Team Ontario member and gold medalist at the 1999 National Team Challenge Cup in Kingston, Ontario. He won the beach volleyball gold medal for Canada at the 2000 Youth Olympics in Australia and was a Canadian under-20 beach champion in 2000 and 2002.

In his five seasons as a Ram, Porosa was selected OUA Libero of the Year and a second team OUA all-star in 2004-05 as well as OUA Rookie of the Year in 2001-02. In his final season with the Rams, Porosa was the recipient of the Claude LaJeunesse award, which is given to the Ryerson student-athlete who attains the highest GPA during the year. He also made the CIS academic all-Canadian honour roll in 2005-2006. He earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees in science at Ryerson.
