Shauna Bookal joined Ryerson Athletics and Recreation in June 2010 as the Athletics Event Co-ordinator.

Bookal co-ordinates all game day promotions and sponsorship, as well as the department's community outreach programs. She also oversees special events such as all tournaments, the Platinum Breakfast and the Athletic Banquet.

Before coming to Ryerson, Bookal was a Marketing Co-ordinator for The Ohio State Athletics where she planned and implemented marketing strategies for the Buckeyes women's basketball team. She also developed a number of new promotional programs including Girl Scout Night, Think Pink, YMCA Night, Timbits Clinics and Community Night. She was the game producer for all Buckeye women's basketball home games and held the same position for the first two rounds of the 2009 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament held in Columbus, Ohio.  

Bookal has a Bachelor of Sport Management from Brock University, a Sport Business Management Graduate Certificate from Durham College and a Master of Science degree in Sport Management from West Virginia University.

As a student, Bookal was very involved on campus and in athletics. She held several positions in athletics both as an employee and a volunteer including event co-ordinator, team manager, marketing intern, minor official and student assistant in the sports information and marketing office.

While at West Virginia, Bookal was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Student in Sport Management Program and was the recipient of both the Stadium Managers Association and Jerry P. Wilkins scholarships. She also received the Durham College Participation and Leadership Award and the Professional Development award from the Brock athletic department.
