WASHINGTON, D.C.- Ryerson Rams Head Coach Roy Rana continues to have success on the international stage this summer. After leading the Canadian Junior Men's National Team (JMNT) to a bronze medal and World Championship berth in June at the FIBA Americas U17 Championships for Men and guiding the World Selects to a victory over the USA Juniors at the Nike Hoop Summit in April, Rana took charge of the Canuck squad that took part in the Nike Global Challenge from July 13-15. The Canadians, led by highly-touted prospect high school prospect Andrew Wiggins, went undefeated in three straight games, tallying wins against Brazil, USA East and China. They would go on to pick up silver after falling to the USA Midwest in the championship match. Wiggins and teammate Trey Lyles were named co-MVP's of the International All-Tournament Team. Rana has put together a 7-2 record and took home two medals over the course of the past two months coaching internationally. |
