Rams win three medals at OUAs

NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. - The Ryerson Rams figure skating team picked up three medals at the 2017 OUA championship this week at the Gale Centre Arena.

Chris Berneck won silver in the men's open skate while Taylor Smith picked up the bronze medal in the women's gold starskate event. Both those medals came on day one of the two-day event.

In the final event, the Rams synchro team placed second to earn the third medal of the championship. The synchro silver medal is the best ever for Ryerson, bettering their bronze medal finish from 2015.

Overall the Rams accumulated 27 points to finish the competition in seventh place.
