The 2018-19 season will be Holness's third as an assistant coach with the Rams.
Holness is a diverse, well-rounded individual with the ability to connect with people on many different levels professionally and personally. He is the Founder of Hoops Canada, a reputable high school basketball coach, and a national champion as an assistant coach for the 2018 Ontario 15U team.
Holness graduated from Centennial College with an Advance Diploma in Child and Youth work, with honours. He is currently attending Grand Canyon University in the Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Performance and Sports Psychology. He also holds a diploma in Graphic Design and Marketing. He has extensive experience working with children and youth from diverse cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. Holness has worked with the City of Toronto Parks and Recreation, the Toronto District School Board, the Kennedy House Youth Services and ACCESS for Youth. He has been featured in the Toronto Star three times for his exceptional work with adolescents.
For the past 15 years, he has tirelessly dedicated himself to preserving mentorship for youth who have the ability to surpass the expectations that life and society have placed upon them. Through Hoops Canada, he has led many youth successfully into the game he loves, basketball, and more importantly pedestals the necessity for higher education. The proof is in the many first-generation youth, from their families, attending college or university with confidence and pride. Holness continues to touch the lives of children and youth through his unbiased nature, his acts of determination, and his words of wisdom.
