Rams look to get back on track this week
TORONTO - Most classes have yet to start at Ryerson, but the hockey season is in full swing as the Rams host the Waterloo Warriors on January 10th before heading to Laurier on January 12th.
After a great start to the season, the Rams are finding it hard to get back to their groove as the new year begins. As a result, the Rams are looking to comeback after their fourth straight loss.
The last time the Waterloo Warriors visited Mattamy Home Ice was the Rams home opener in September. The Rams won 10-1, which began their high scoring season. In the first four games the Rams had 24 goals. In comparison, the Rams have only put up seven points in their last four showings. The Rams are currently 12-5-1.
The Waterloo Warriors are 6-10-4, and had a much closer affair the second time out against Ryerson. On November 9 the teams needed overtime to decide a winner, when Steve Harland scored to give the Rams their second win over the Warriors. Overall, it will be a tough match for the Rams as they hope for a better outcome to begin the weekend and the latter half of the season.
Ryerson’s Matt Mistele (Whitby, Ont.) remains at the top of the OUA leaderboard with 37 points and 22 assists. He is ranked in second place with 15 goals, and is someone the Rams will rely on to lead them back to their high-scoring style of play.
On Saturday, January 12th the Rams will face off with the Laurier Golden Hawks for the first time this season. Currently, the Hawks are 7-10-1. Game start will be at 7:07 p.m. at Sun Life Arena.
