St. Louis Bar & Grill Athletes of the Week

This week co-winners were needed for the #DevilishlyGood St. Louis Bar & Grill Male Athlete of the Week.

First up is Manny Diressa (Toronto) from the men's basketball team. Diressa was named the Porter Airlines Player of the Game in the Wilson Cup championship game as the Rams repeated as OUA Champions. Diressa scored 24 points, all in the second half, to lead Ryerson to back-to-back titles. He also added seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals in 36 minutes of play. The night before, the fourth year guard netted 20 points and had three rebounds, three assists, and three steals in the Rams semifinal win over Ottawa. The Rams will now continue their season this week at the U SPORTS Final 8.

Our second male athlete of the week is Lucas Coleman (Brooklin, Ont.) from the men's volleyball team. Coleman posted a school record 30 kills and 37 points to lead the Rams to a comeback of epic proportions. Down 2-0 in their quarter-final to Western, Ryerson rallied for a 3-2 win to advance to the OUA Final Four next weekend. In the fifth set, Coleman stepped to the service line trailing 14-11 and rattled off five straight serves to stave off elimination and lead the Rams to victory. In addition to the 30 kills, Coleman added 11 digs defensively and six service aces. Ryerson is headed back to the Final Four for the second straight season.

Julie Longman (Newmarket, Ont.) is this week's #DevilishlyGood St. Louis Bar & Grill Female Athlete of the Week. The fourth year libero posted 23 digs for an average of 7.67 digs per set in the Rams sweep of Guelph in their quarter-final match. Longman steadied the back row defence all afternoon and helped keep the Rams in system for their offence to be efficient. Longman and the Rams advance to the OUA Final Four next weekend for the second straight year.

All three winners will receive a $25 gift certificate to St. Louis Bar & Grill.
