Grahamís shutout leads Rams to fifth straight win
WATERLOO, Ont. – Charlie Graham stopped 22 shots for his first career OUA shutout as the Ryerson Rams men’s hockey team recorded its fifth straight victory to improve to an OUA West Division leading 10-2-1.
Rams captain Michael Fine opened the scoring just under five minutes into the first period when he took a feed from Matt Mistele before sliding the puck between the legs of Waterloo goaltender Mike Morrison.
Ryerson would add to the lead midway through the second frame when Waterloo’s Cam Nicoll was assessed a five-minute major for checking to the head. Mistele and Chris Marchese scored on the ensuing power play just over a minute apart to give the Rams a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes.
Devon Paliani scored on a breakaway in the third period to round out the scoring.
Morrison stopped 20 of 24 shots for Waterloo, who slip to 3-7-2 with the loss.
Ryerson will visit the Toronto Varsity Blues on Wednesday for a school day game. Puck drop is set for 11:00 am.
