HAMILTON- OUA rookie of the year Chelsea Briscoe has been named to the CIS all-rookie team, marking the first time a member of Ryerson's women's volleyball program has earned national recognition.

Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) released its major award winners and all-Canadians at the Crowne Plaza in Hamilton, where the 2012 women's volleyball CIS Championships begins this Friday at McMaster University.

Briscoe, a product of Georgetown, Ont., averaged 2.92 points per set which ranked her 20th in conference scoring. Briscoe also garnered a .243 kill percentage, which placed her seventh in the league amongst players with 300 or more total attacks, and led the Rams with 191 total points this year.
