TORONTO- Ryerson Rams men's basketball student-manager Dipesh Mistry made a big impact at the U19 Junior Boys OBA championships which took place from May 25-27 at RIM Park in Waterloo, Ont.

Mistry led MUMBA to a 2-1 record in the round-robin phase of the Division I tournament.  The fourth-ranked squad heading into the championships came up with a 74-61 triumph over the London Rambers in the semifinals, setting up a match against Blessed Sacrament-Nation for the title.  MUMBA claimed gold with a 61-50 win.

Mistry made his biggest contribution from the bench, acting as head coach of the team.  This included scouting opponents, creating game plans and drawing up plays during timeouts as well as being the vocal leader of his side.

"Most of what I learned was because of my role at Ryerson," said Mistry.  "I was able to soak up (a lot of) information from Coach Rana."
