TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams men's basketball team turned in an inspiring performance following their OUA championship banner raising and ring presentation on Saturday night, defeating the Laurentian Voyageurs 98-61 to move to 4-0 on the season.

BOXSCORE

It was a balanced attack that led the Rams to victory with six different players scoring in double digits. Manny Diressa (Toronto) led the squad with 16 points and six rebounds while Adika Peter-McNeilly (Scarborough, Ont.) added 14 points and seven steals. Adam Voll (Kitchener, Ont.) poured in a career-high 12 points as well.

The final score was no indication of how tight things were in the first quarter. Laurentian held an 18-17 advantage before the Rams closed the frame on a 6-0 run to hold a 23-18 lead after ten minutes.

The Rams kicked it up a notch tempo wise in the second quarter, outscoring the Voyaguers by 13 to open up a 48-30 lead at halftime.

Ryerson's depth shone through once again as the Rams bench outscored Laurentian's bench 35-4. Roshane Roberts (Vaughan, Ont.) led the way in that department with 15 points off the bench.

Laurentian's leading scorer Kadre Gray finished with an impressive 24 points but many of those points came late when the game was already out of reach. Keeping Gray, the OUA leading scorer entering tonight's game, in check was certainly a big reason for the Rams success on Saturday.

Ryerson improves to 4-0 on the season while Laurentian falls to .500 at 2-2. The Rams return to action next Friday, November 25 when they take on the Algoma Thunderbirds in Sault Ste. Marie.
