The women ended their three-year playoff drought after finishing the season with a 6-9-1 record and 19 points; good enough for sixth-place in the OUA East division. Their six victories the most in program history, while their 23 goals-for is also a team-record.
Veterans Kendra Welham (Oakville, Ont.) and Andrea Raso (Etobicoke, Ont.) led the Rams in scoring over the course of the year, combining for 13 goals. Welham notched seven markers, while Raso picked up six.
The Rams will face off against the third-place Toronto Varsity Blues (11-2-3) this Wednesday in the first round of the OUA playoffs. The Blues swept the season series between the two teams, shutting out the Rams 3-0 on September 18 and recording a come-from-behind 2-1 victory on October 16.
The downtown rivals will do battle at Varsity Centre on Wednesday. Game-time is yet to be determined.
