KINGSTON — In their first of two games of their annual trip to Kingston, the Ryerson Rams women's soccer team received a not-so-warm welcome from Saturday's hosts, the nation's tenth-best club.

BOXSCORE

"Unfortunately, we didn't play our best game today and the scoreline shows that. We know Queen's is a quality, nationally-ranked team and they capitalize on opportunities as they did today," said Rams associate coach, Tina Cook. "Some small errors cost us today, but as we settled in we were able to compete and create attacking chances.

The barrage of Gaels' goals began in the third minute and continued until the twenty-seventh minute when Alexandra Doane added Queen's fourth of the half. It was a temporary halt, however, as they added two more markers in the second half to see the scoreboard hit half a dozen.

Victoria Watson (Scarborough, Ont.) broke up Marina Ribecca's clean sheet with a beautiful strike from twenty-five yards out, for the Rams' lone goal of the game.

"With every game, we come together more as a team and some adversity will only make us stronger," added Cook. "We look forward to a new day tomorrow and feel confident in our ability to take points against RMC."

We won't have to wait long to see if Ryerson is able to take those points from RMC. They kickoff their final match of the weekend tomorrow at 3:15 pm from Navy Bay Fields. You can follow along on Twitter, @ryersonrams.
