The Ryerson Rams rowing team kicked off its fall season at the Western Invitational on Sunday.

Veteran Philippe Roy teamed up with second-year rower Powers Yamich to claim silver in the lightweight men's double, while second -year Ram Bryan Kirow posted a bronze medal finish in the lightweight men's single.

The Rams will have a weekend off to prepare for the Head of the Trent on October 3. The Head of the Trent is the largest single-day rowing regatta in Canada.
