Boston Pizza Athletes of the Week
The Ryerson Rams Athletes of the Week are presented by Boston Pizza at Front & John

Jordon Gauthier has been named the Boston Pizza Male Athlete of the Week for the second occasion this year after his consistent play over the weekend on the men's basketball team's first road trip of the season. The Windsor, Ont. native and 2010-11 OUA all-rookie had a game-high nine rebounds to go along with 14 points, three steals and a block to help the men record their first victory of the season, 68-66 over Guelph on Friday night. Gauthier was also solid the following evening in Ryerson's loss to Lakehead, as the psychology major put up a team-high 15 points and five rebounds in 38 minutes of court time against the Thunderwolves. The Rams are back at Kerr Hall Gym this weekend, hosting the Windsor Lancers on Friday night and Western Mustangs on Saturday evening.

Ryerson Rams fencer Joanna Kolbe is the Boston Pizza Female Athlete of the Week. The Mississauga native took home a bronze medal this past weekend at the 2011 Canadian Selection Circuit competition in Saskatoon, Sask. The 2011 RSU Trophy winner for Ryerson Female Rookie of the Year also earned a bronze at the Brock Open in St. Catharines earlier in November. Kolbe took home the Dr. Al English Trophy after capturing gold in the epee event at the OUA Championship last season. It was the first women's epee medal in Ryerson team history. The OUA Fencing Championships occur on back-to-back weekends in February. The men's championship takes place at Queen's from February 11-12, while the women's occurs one week later at Brock from February 18-19.
