WINDSOR, Ont. - The Ryerson Rams women's hockey team got off to a quick start on Sunday afternoon against the Windsor Lancers when Samantha Pui (Toronto) scored just 26 seconds into the contest but the Lancers used four unanswered goals to skate to a 6-2 victory.

After Pui's quick goal, Windsor tallied twice on goals from Lindsay Hoogstraten (St. George, Ont.) and Erinn Noseworthy (Appin, Ont.) to take a 2-1 lead after the first period.

Emily Rose Galliani Pecchia (Toronto) scored her fifth goal of the season and second in her last three games to tie the score at 2-2 at 15:37 in the second period.

Windsor countered with a quick strike from Jenny MacKnight (Regina, Sask.) just over a minute later to reclaim the lead before scoring three goals in the third period to put the game away.

The Rams could not capitalize on the powerplay, going 0-for-2 while the Lancers went 1-for-7 with the man advantage.

Dana Carson (London, Ont.) started in goal for the Rams and made 21 saves on 24 shots in just under 40 minutes of play. Emma Crawley (Herring Cove, N.S.) entered in relief and recorded 7 saves on 10 shots.

Windsor goaltender Karlyle Robinson (St. Catharines, Ont.) stopped 16 of 18 Ryerson shots for the victory.

Ryerson returns to the ice on Saturday, February 2 when they host the UOIT Ridgebacks at 6:30 p.m. on Mattamy Home Ice as part of the Think Pink initiative.
