Introduction to Ryerson Dragon Boat

By Sports Information

Ryerson Rams Dragon Boat Club

The Ryerson Rams Dragon Boat Club (RDB) operates as one of the largest organized paddling clubs in Canada.

Paddling in teams of 20 participants plus a steersperson and a drummer, RDB competes in a variety of regattas across North America and is currently one of the largest and longest running sports clubs at Ryerson. The program has been around for over a decade, continuing to see exponential growth in roster size over the last few years.

Club Supervisor and Head Coach, Nick Fan (Class of 2007) along with the coaching staff of Ryerson alumnus have developed the curriculum and training schedule that allows participants to enjoy the sport on a recreational level while providing elements of competitive racing.  The entire coaching staff has been certified by the internationally recognized coaching certification sanctioned by Dragon Boats Canada and the National Coaching Certification Program.
