Christopher Castillo named as Rams' fifth recruit

By Jessica Pincente

TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams men’s soccer team announced today that Christopher Castillo has become the fifth member of the team’s 2018 recruiting class.

Castillo will join the Rams from just up the road in Maple, Ont. With local, provincial, and national experience under his belt, the mid-fielder brings a wide range of skills to the Rams roster.

On a club level, Castillo has trained and competed within the Toronto FC organization for several years, playing with TFC III and TFC Academy. Castillo has also trained with Canada’s U15 and U17 teams ahead of high-level, international tournaments.

“I am a technical player which allows me to be more efficient in game play,” says Castillo.

A graduate of St. Joan of Arc CHS in Maple, Castillo was named MVP of the school’s soccer team in 2017.

Castillo will enter Ryerson’s Business Management program in the fall.

“Ryerson is home for me — this is the place I see myself growing as a player and also as a student,” says Castillo. “This is where I see myself striving for excellence and receiving help along the way, and I’m excited to spend the next four years as a Ram.”
