No. 4 Rams host No. 5 Ravens in Top 10 clash
TORONTO - A couple of U SPORTS nationally ranked teams will face off Sunday afternoon when the Ryerson Rams men's soccer team hosts the Carleton Ravens.
The No. 4 ranked Rams and No. 5 ranked Ravens are coming in hot having won both their opening four games. During that stretch, both teams have only given up two goals each.
Sunday’s matchup will be the first of two meetings between the two teams, with the second coming in early October at Carleton.
After scoring five goals in the team’s first two games, Ryerson's Abdallah El-Chanti added another two to his total last week giving him a large lead a top of the OUA scoring list. Tied for fifth in scoring is Carleton’s Gabriel Bitar and Jimi Aribido; their three goals each lead the Ravens.
This will be the toughest test both teams face in the early stages of the season. With both teams playing the way they are it could be one single play that changes the entire game. Each side will be looking for any opportunity to get the leg up.
Ryerson could have a slight advantage Sunday afternoon. Not only does Carleton have to travel to play, but they also will be playing Saturday afternoon against the University of Toronto, a team that gave the Rams a good test on Sept. 2.
The game will kick off at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Downsview Park in North York. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram for all the latest scores and updates.
