Rams look to take control of OUA East in big match with Carleton
TORONTO - In what will be the most anticipated game of their season, the Ryerson Rams men’s soccer team is traveling to Ottawa on Saturday Oct. 6 to take on their OUA East rivals, the Carleton Ravens.
Ryerson's two wins last weekend extended the team's regular season unbeaten streak to 21 games, which they will be looking to push to 22 after this big game on Saturday.
This is the second meeting of the season for the No. 5 ranked Rams and No. 6 ranked Ravens. The first meeting was a 0-0 tie that has allowed both teams to stay a top of the standings together.
The Rams and Ravens have both won all of their games against all other OUA East teams and they’re showing no signs of slowing down. A win in this matchup for Ryerson would give them separation from the Ravens and an inside track on the number one seed.
The Rams and Ravens both rank first and second in goals for and goals against in the OUA. Similar to the teams' first meeting of the season this game should be a tightly contested game with any single play having the chance to not only swing the outcome of the game, but the balance of power in the OUA.
The Rams will be looking to Abdallah El-Chanti to be a difference maker this time around; his 10 goals on the season have him second in the OUA.
The game will kick off at 3:15 p.m. at MNP Park. Follow us on Twitter for all the latest scores and updates.
