Fastpitch adds four new recruits for 2018-19

TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams fastpitch team is pleased to announce its four-player recruiting class for the 2018-19 season.

Alicia Callaghan
Callaghan joins the Rams after having played four seasons for the Toronto Varsity Blues while completing her undergraduate degree in Geography. A right-handed pitcher and first baseman from Mississauga, Ont., Callaghan will be entering the Master of Planning, Urban Development program.

Zoe Delorme
A pitcher and third baseman, Delorme joins the Rams from the Brampton Blazers program. Delorme has ample big-game experience having played in four national championships.

Idana Scaccia
A native of Newmarket, Ont., Scaccia joins the Rams from the UTM Revolution program - a team that draws players from all over the eastern part of the province. A first baseman and right fielder, Scaccia helped her rep team to a fourth place finish in the province two years ago.

Jessica Sutton
A teammate of fellow recruit Delorme, Sutton also joins the Rams from the Brampton Blazers program. Sutton won two provincial championships with the Blazers and attended the national championships four times. Primarily a pitcher, Sutton can also play second base.

The Ryerson Rams fastpitch team will be holding an open tryout this Sunday, August 26 to round out their roster before the season begins. The Rams will play in an Early Bird tournament in Brampton on September 1 before opening the regular season on September 8 against the Brock Badgers.
