TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams baseball team will play two big series on the road this weekend against McMaster and York. Getting ready for the weekend here are some team updates for the weekend from Head Coach Ben Rich.

Q: Any injuries affecting the team?
A: Nothing to report.

Q: After a tough start to the season how is the mood of the team?
A: Good. The players understand where we need to improve in order to play our best ball.

Q: What is your approach towards this upcoming road trip?
A: Nothing different than usual. Have to play every game with the same level of intensity, focus, and execution to be successful, regardless of where you are playing, what point in the season, or what the standings are.

Q: Discuss the excellent early season performances of Jesse Fishbaum and Charlie Crabb.
A: Crabb has been as billed; a front-line starter. That’s what he was at Carleton, and he's continued to perform at that level for us. Its great. Fish has a strong swing, a very good arm, and is fast. He has been a nice surprise rookie performance thus far, not because he's not capable, but because coming into the league is usually a hard adjustment. Certainly the season isn't over yet and it's a small sample size, but so far at the plate he is doing well in that regard.

Q: Any concern with the early struggles of some of the players?
A: Similar to why you can't get too high on good early performances, you also can’t get too low on poor performances. It's a very condensed season, so one bad weekend can make things look bad for a player.

Q: What is your projected starting rotation for the weekend?
A: Sat: Quinn Cumming, Caleb King. Sun: Crabb, Kevin MacDonald.

Q: MacDonald looked very effective out of the bullpen on the weekend; could he be an option there in the future?
A: Because of the rain-outs on Saturday we only needed two starters, so we were able to slide MacDonald into the bullpen on Sunday. He's back in the rotation this week.
