Ryerson baseball announces 2018 recruits
TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams baseball program is proud to announce the following recruits for the 2018 season.
Mitch Fiacco, RHP/1B
Fiacco is a strong and athletic player, with good velocity and quality secondary pitches. He also brings some power to the plate. In the summer, Fiacco plays for the Oakville A's men's team.
Matt Tohana, RHP
Tohana is a graduate of the North Toronto 18U program. He has a long frame that creates good movement on his pitches which should be effective at getting outs in the OUA.
Logan Kerry, RHP
Kerry brings a very sound delivery to the Ryerson Rams, which should make him a consistent strike thrower. He has three solid pitches, and is a product of the East York 18U team.
Max Dieks, RHP
Entering his second year at Ryerson, an injury prevented Dieks from trying out last season. However, now healthy, Dieks is poised to make positive contributions to the Rams pitching staff. In the summer Dieks plays for the Thornhill 21U team.
Sam Turcotte, C
Turcotte brings a well-rounded catching game to the roster, and sound mechanics at the plate. His addition to the team will provide additional depth at a key position. Turcotte is a product of the North Toronto 18U team.
Tyler Hopper, SS/2B
Hopper is a skilled defensive player with sound abilities at the plate. His addition to the team will shore up the Ryerson infield defence this season.
Spencer Snow, OF
Snow is a product of the North Toronto 18U program. He brings a well-rounded game both offensively and in the field.
The team will make additional selections from the open tryout on Tuesday, August 28th, details of which can be found here. The regular season begins on September 8th when the Rams host the Guelph Gryphons at Pan Am Park in Ajax.
