KINGSTON, Ont. – The Ryerson Rams women’s soccer team defeated the RMC Paladins 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in Kingston.

Sarah Slattery (St. Catharines, Ont.) scored her second goal of the year just six minutes into the contest and the goal stood up as the game-winner.

With the win the Rams improve to 3-4-1 on the season and hold steady in the sixth and final playoff position in the OUA east standings. In three games this week the Rams went 2-0-1 for seven of nine possible points which helped them earn a four point advantage over Nipissing who remains outside the playoff picture.

Karena Evans (Pickering, Ont.) was named the player of the game for the Rams on Sunday and continues to generate chances for Ryerson up front.

Rebecca Petrocelli (Woodbridge, Ont.) earned her second clean sheet of the season in goal for the Rams.

The Rams return to action next Sunday, September 29 when they host the Toronto Varsity Blues at Monarch Park Stadium at 12:00 p.m.
