Women's fencing compete at OUAs
TORONTO – This past weekend the women’s fencing team competed at the OUA Championships hosted at York University and posted several top ten finishes.
In the team competition, the foil team had their best ever finish, losing out on a bronze medal by just a single point to place fourth. Both the sabre and epee teams finished in sixth place.
Individually, Victoria Arci (Woodbridge, Ont.) placed fifth in the sabre discipline. The top Ram in the epee weapon was Kristen Wavryk (Scarborough, Ont.) who finished sixth, and Marcena Lau (Markham, Ont.) and Adeline Boey (Johor Bahru, Malaysia) finished sixth and eight, respectively, in the foil competition.
The men’s fencing team will have their chance at bringing home a medal at the OUA Championship on February 21-22 at Brock University.
