OTTAWA, Ont. – The Ryerson Rams men’s fencing team brought home one individual and one team medal from this year’s OUA Championship hosted this past weekend by the University of Ottawa.

First-year Ram Sam Hardwicke (Edmonton, Alta.) won the gold medal in the men's foil individual event.

Hardwicke also helped the Ryerson foil team to the bronze medal. Sean McKay, Mike Francki and Gianfranc Pipitone were the other members of the foil team.

The Rams finished with 172 total points at the event to finish fifth out of 12 participating schools. Hardwicke was also named an OUA all-star for his performance.
