TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams figure skating team earned 34 points to finish fifth out of nine teams at the 2016 OUA Championship.

The Rams won two medals on Monday including a silver medal from Sawyer Buchanan and Lisa Casselman in the Sr. Silver Similar Dance event and a bronze from Makayela Hill in the Sr. Silver Solo Dance. Ryerson added its only gold medal of the championships on Tuesday as Chris Berneck won the Men's Free Skate. Taylor Smith had the team's fourth medal, a bronze, in the Novice Short Program.

Ryerson also earned points on Monday in the Sr. Silver Freeskate where Julia Withers placed fourth, the Jr. Silver Similar Dance where Withers paired with Lauren Hildebrand for a sixth place finish, and the foursome of Buchanan, Spencer Buchanan, Caitie McKinnon and Karen Urquhart also finished sixth.

Tuesday's additional points came from a sixth place finish in the Gold Creative Dance by Briar Koski and Rebecca Rogers, plus the synchro team finished sixth for an additional point.
