Women's hockey to open season against Windsor
TORONTO - The 2018-19 OUA women’s hockey schedule has officially been released, and the Ryerson Rams are set to open up the season against the Windsor Lancers on October 14, 2018.
A fifth-place OUA finish saw the 2017-18 Rams squad qualify for the playoffs for the second time in the program’s six-year history, and a tough three-game first round series pushed the Rams to their limit. The team would ultimately face elimination after two straight postseason losses to the Nipissing Lakers.
Though the season didn’t play out as the team had hoped, a cascade of positive takeaways left the Rams in an ideal position heading into the new season.
Skipping forward to the end of the season, the 2019 U SPORTS Women’s Hockey National Championships will be hosted by the University of Prince Edward Island from March 14-17, 2019. The two OUA berths will be awarded to the provincial gold and silver medalists. The Rams have never qualified for the tournament, but, with their continued improvement, what once seemed like a distant dream has now transformed into a future possibility.
