Morris-Fraser chooses Ryerson for U SPORTS career
TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams men’s volleyball team is proud to announce that Trystan Morris-Fraser will take to the court for the Rams in September, officially named as Ryerson's fourth commitment of the 2018-19 recruiting class.
Morris-Fraser, a highly-coveted recruit, comes to the Rams with an extensive volleyball resume. A two-time national champion with the Durham Attack, Morris-Fraser has seen a lot of success at the club level, leading his team a provincial championship for four consecutive seasons (2014-2017).
“We are very excited to welcome Trystan to our campus and to our volleyball program,” says Rams head coach Matt Harris. “Trystan was a highly recruited student-athlete and we’re fortunate for him to choose Ryerson.”
A Pickering, Ont. native, Morris-Fraser was recently named to the Volleyball Canada’s Youth Development Team for the upcoming 2018 season.
“I am a competitor and I love to win,” says Morris-Fraser. “I pride myself on my ability to stay calm and not crack under pressure.”
At the high school level, Morris-Fraser held the captaincy at St. Mary’s HS for four years. He was also named
Morris-Fraser will enter Ryerson’s Retail Management program in September.
“Unlike other universities, Ryerson is so new and innovative,” continues Morris-Fraser. “There are so many facilities and programs that are geared towards the new generation of students. I found Ryerson to be the best fit me academically and also athletically, giving me opportunities to thrive in the classroom and on the volleyball court”
