By Andrea Elliott

TULSA, Okla. – Ryerson Rams men’s volleyball head coach, Matt Harris, incoming first year student-athlete, Trystan Morris-Fraser, and assistant coach, Jonathan Lam, helped Team Canada to a fifth place finish at the USA Volleyball High Performance Championship this past weekend.

Harris guided Team Canada (Black) to a 5-0 record in pool play, picking up victories over teams from Pennsylvania, New England, New York, and two USA Select teams.

In the quarter-final, Team Canada met Canada’s other entry in the Boys’ International Division of the competition, Team Canada (Red). After posting a 2-2 record in their pool, Team Canada Red defeated Team Canada Black in straight sets.

Harris, Morris-Fraser, and Lam went on to win the “Silver” bracket to ultimately finish in fifth place. Meanwhile, Team Canada Red finished in fourth to give Canada two top-five finishes out of 22 teams.

The Rams contingent will return to Toronto in preparation for the upcoming 2018-19 season that begins conference play on October 24th.
