Rams seek three sets from Trent
TORONTO - The Rams are looking forward to welcoming the Trent Excalibur at the Coca-Cola Court on Friday, November 9th at 8:00 p.m.
Now that the season is well underway, the Rams are sitting in an encouraging spot. Even though they were unable to come out on top against Queen’s last Friday, the Rams were able to compete and get to the fifth set (14-25, 17-25, 25-16, 25-19, 13-15). Considering the number of fresh faces that are on the court, this proves that the Rams are progressing and capable of adapting to OUA volleyball, which is valuable for the rest of the season and their years to come.
Last season against Trent, the Rams won during both of their meetings. This season the Rams are 2-1 compared to Trent’s 0-2 record, sitting just above RMC in the standings.
The Rams redeemed themselves against RMC last Saturday after the heartbreaking loss against Queen’s. The Rams took all three sets (25-14, 25-15, 25-18). Eric Girard (Ottawa, Ont.) supported the Rams with 17 kills that evening. This is a positive for the Rams because not only can they rely on specific players for consistency, each Ram on the court is capable of earning a point.
Once the game begins on Friday, it will be important for the Rams to change their momentum and try to attack early on to get the lead. The initial offense in the beginning will help the Rams develop their strategy to take the three sets from Trent. Hopefully another win, will give them them the edge they need to continue to move forward as a team.
Game start will be at 8:00 p.m. at the Coca-Cola Court on November 9th. For live updates follow us on Twitter.
