RICHMOND HILL, Ont. - The Ryerson Rams golf team continued their season at the York Invitational, held at Summit Golf Club in Richmond Hill. While the men previously qualified for the OUA championships, they improved on their performance from the Brock Invitational despite the inclement weather.

Mahir Omar (Mississauga, Ont.) led the way for the Rams with a 78 while Andrew Hudencial, Isaiah Crystal and Ryan Sura all debuted for the Rams and shot 80, 82, 83 respectively. The Rams 324 total allowed them to finish in a tie for 7th.

On the women's side, Madison Lee (West Hill, Ont.) led the way for the Rams, playing in her first OUA event.  While the rain continued to fall all day, Madison overcame the weather and focused on hitting fairways and greens.  In the end, she was able to clinch a spot in the OUA Championships as an individual.  Amanda Grant was also playing in her first event for the Rams after spending the previous three seasons as a member of the women's hockey team. While she improved throughout the day, both her and Team Captain Heather Jennings narrowly missed qualifying for the OUA Championships.

The Ryerson Rams women's team will have another opportunity to qualify for OUA’s at the Guelph Invitational, Monday, October 3rd.
